My Story

Director/Owner/Instructor 

Julie Keeney has been dancing for over 40 yrs.  She graduated with a BFA in Dance performance from the University of New York College at Brockport.  Her talent was enriched by the highly acclaimed professors, Garth Fagan, PJ Pennewell,  Timothy Draper and Jamey Throumoulos Leverett to name a few.  

 

While at Brockport, Julie did an internship at Brockport High School teaching "JAZZ" and also taught an “INTRO TO DANCE” class at Suny Brockport. Julie was part of DANSCORE which is a touring dance company. Julie also performed in several self-choreographed performances and was in dance pieces that were adjudicated at ACDFA. 

 

Julie has been teaching dance for over 25yrs. in the local area. Julie’s specialties are Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary/ Lyrical and Modern. Julie has received several 1st Place Overalls, Platinum awards, Highest Overall Scoring, Entertainer awards, Top teacher and Best Choreography awards at local competitions in the area for her Lyrical and Modern pieces throughout the yrs. 

 

Julie has held numerous fitness classes in the local area for over 10yrs. She is currently certified in POUND Fitness & Pilates through ACE & AFAA Fitness. Julie is also certified in CPR /First Aid. Julie is currently a Fitness Specialist at The Arc of Monroe where she teaches Fitness/ Dance to the geriatric population with disabilities.  In 2020, Julie opened DanceCore a Fitness and Dance studio in Cdg. teaching ages 2-adults.
